The GYDTZA optical cable is constructed by embedding fiber ribbons into loose tubes made of high-modulus material, filled with a water-blocking compound. The core center contains a metallic strength member. For certain fiber counts, an additional polyethylene (PE) layer is extruded over the metallic strength member. The loose tubes (and filler rods, if applicable) are stranded around the central strength member to form a compact circular cable core, with gaps filled with water-blocking material. A plastic-coated aluminum tape (APL) is longitudinally applied before extruding a flame-retardant outer sheath to complete the cable.
