The GYTA53+33 optical cable is constructed by embedding 250μm optical fibers into a loose tube made of high-modulus material, filled with a water-blocking compound. The core center contains a metallic strength member. The loose tubes (and filler rods if applicable) are stranded around the central strength member to form a compact and circular cable core, with gaps filled with water-blocking material. A plastic-coated aluminum tape (APL) is longitudinally applied before extruding an inner polyethylene (PE) sheath, followed by a double-sided plastic-coated steel tape (PSP) longitudinally applied and an outer PE sheath extruded. Finally, a layer of single fine round steel wire armor is applied, and an outermost PE sheath is extruded to complete the cable.
