The GYTZA optical cable is constructed by embedding fiber ribbons into loose tubes made of high-modulus material, filled with a water-blocking compound. The core center contains a metallic strength member. For certain fiber counts, a low-smoke zero-halogen (LSZH) polyethylene sheath is extruded over the metallic strength member. The loose tubes (and filler rods, if applicable) are stranded around the central strength member to form a compact circular cable core, with gaps filled with water-blocking material. A plastic-coated aluminum tape (APL) is longitudinally applied before extruding a flame-retardant outer sheath to complete the cable.
