Structure of GYTC8S optical cable: 250μm fibers are inserted into high-modulus loose tubes (filled with water-blocking compound). A metallic strength member is at the cable core center (PE extrusion over it for certain fiber counts). Loose tubes (and filling ropes) are stranded around the central strength member to form a compact circular core (gaps filled with water-blocking material). After longitudinal wrapping with double-sided plastic-coated steel tape (PSP), it is integrated with steel wire strands into a figure-8 polyethylene sheath.
